Not every existing die is a suitable modification candidate. Industry Insight: Modification Is Not Automatically Lower Risk Than a New Die

Reusing an existing die may reduce the amount of new tooling, but the original structure can limit the change. A revised product may require more forming travel, different material flow, new piercing locations, additional stations or a different press interface.
