Stamping die design services should connect part feasibility, forming requirements, tooling structure, manufacturing conditions and final tryout results. A die that is designed without considering the actual material, press, feeder and production requirements may require extensive correction after machining.
Dongguan Changdong Tool & Die Co., Ltd. provides integrated stamping die design and build support, from drawing review and DFM to CAE, process planning, 3D die design, machining, assembly, tryout correction and sample validation. Each project is evaluated according to the drawing, material grade, part geometry, production volume and customer equipment conditions.
Review of material, geometry, tolerance, forming risk, production volume and customer press conditions.
Forming analysis, strip layout, station planning, material-flow review and springback evaluation when required.
3D design, machining, WEDM, grinding, fitting, assembly and selected working-component treatment.
45T–800T press tryout, engineering correction and sample inspection under suitable project conditions.
Stamping die design services convert a part drawing and production requirement into a practical tooling solution. The work may include DFM, material and forming review, tooling-route selection, strip or station planning, CAE, die-structure design, working-component definition, press compatibility, manufacturing drawings and engineering support during tryout. A complete design-and-build service continues through machining, assembly, correction and sample validation.

| Project Stage | Typical Engineering Work | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| RFQ and drawing review | Part geometry, material, thickness, tolerances, annual volume and equipment information | Define project scope and identify missing technical data |
| DFM and feasibility | Forming risk, hole and bend conditions, draw depth, trimming, burr direction and datum review | Reduce avoidable tooling and production risks before final design |
| Process planning | Tooling-route selection, station sequence, strip layout or transfer process planning | Determine how the part will be cut, formed, transferred and released |
| CAE and compensation | Material flow, wrinkling, cracking, thinning and springback analysis when required | Support die-face development and correction planning |
| 3D die design | Die structure, guides, punches, inserts, cutting edges, stripper, lifters and maintenance access | Convert the approved process into manufacturable tooling |
| Build and assembly | Machining, WEDM, grinding, fitting, heat treatment, assembly and spotting | Produce the complete die according to the approved design |
| Tryout and validation | Press tryout, feeding review, forming correction, trimming check and sample measurement | Verify actual tooling performance before delivery preparation |
Strip-fed tooling with multiple piercing, bending, forming, restriking and cut-off stations for suitable production-volume projects.
Multi-station tooling for larger, deeper or more complex parts that are moved between forming operations.
Individual blanking, piercing, bending, drawing, trimming, flanging or restriking dies used alone or in a staged process.
Tooling for suitable housings, trays, covers and drawn metal parts where material flow and draw depth require controlled evaluation.
Changdong was founded in 2012 and operates an approximately 4,000 m² factory with more than 80 employees. Engineering, tooling manufacture, assembly, tryout and sample inspection can be connected within the same project workflow.
| Capability | Reference | Conditions |
|---|---|---|
| Press capacity | 45T–800T | For die tryout and selected stamping projects under suitable conditions |
| General sheet thickness | Approximately 0.3–12 mm | Depending on material, geometry, die structure and press condition |
| Maximum die length | Approximately 4,200 mm | Depending on tooling type, weight and equipment conditions |
| Maximum product size | Approximately 1,200 mm | Subject to product structure, process route and press conditions |
| Typical T0 sample timing | About 35 days | After final drawings and technical requirements are confirmed |
The tooling design must consider press tonnage, bed size, shut height, stroke, feeding direction, feeder capacity and off-center load. Automatic feeding may support material up to approximately 6.5 mm thick and 1.3 m wide under suitable material and project conditions.
Depending on material and geometry, engineering controls may include CAE, over-bending, die-face compensation, restriking and station adjustment. Final results must be verified during tryout using actual or approved project material.
Selected forming and cutting components, including suitable inserts, punches and cutting edges, may be heat-treated to approximately HRC 58–60. TD or Super TD treatment is available for selected in-house die components when required by the project. Tool steel and treatment are selected according to material, load, wear mode and tooling structure.
A 3D model alone does not confirm that a stamping die will produce stable parts. Real tooling performance is affected by material variation, press rigidity, feeding, cutting clearance, friction, springback and assembly accuracy.
Connecting design engineers with machining, assembly, tryout and inspection teams allows actual sample results to be returned to the tooling design. This feedback loop is particularly important when engineering changes or die-face corrections are required before delivery.
Stamping die design services convert a sheet metal part drawing and production requirement into a manufacturable tooling system. The work may include DFM, CAE, process planning, strip layout, die-structure design, manufacturing drawings and tryout support.
Dongguan Changdong Tool & Die Co., Ltd. provides integrated stamping die design and build services, including engineering review, machining, assembly, 45T–800T press tryout, correction and sample validation under suitable project conditions.
Changdong manufactures custom stamping dies and stamped metal parts. It does not sell stamping press machines, standard retail dies or DIY tooling.
Provide the 2D or 3D part drawing, material grade, sheet thickness, annual volume, tolerance requirements, burr direction, surface requirements and available press or feeder information.
Changdong's primary service connects engineering review, tooling design, manufacturing, assembly, tryout and sample validation. The exact project scope is confirmed according to customer requirements.
Project support may include progressive dies, transfer dies, single-operation dies, drawing dies and related cutting or forming tools. The suitable route depends on geometry, material, volume and customer equipment.
A typical T0 sample timing is about 35 days after final drawings and technical requirements are confirmed. Actual timing depends on die type, dimensions, complexity, engineering changes and project conditions.
Send your drawings, material specification, expected volume and press information for project-specific DFM, tooling-route and die-build evaluation.
