This transfer die stamping processing project integrates riveting operations directly into the stamping flow. Instead of stamping the part first and moving it to a separate riveting workstation, the riveting step is combined with transfer die production to improve positioning accuracy, reduce handling variation and support more consistent assembly quality.
The process is suitable for stamped metal components that require joined features, reinforced structures or assembled functional areas. In a transfer die process, the part is moved between stations for blanking, piercing, forming and other operations. When riveting is added into the die sequence, the rivet position, part locating datum and forming relationship must be controlled together.
| Process Type | Transfer die stamping processing with integrated riveting |
| Main Purpose | Combining stamping and riveting in one controlled production flow |
| Typical Operations | Blanking, piercing, forming, transfer positioning, riveting and sample inspection |
| Material Options | Carbon steel, galvanized steel, stainless steel, aluminum or project-specific sheet metal, subject to drawing and DFM review |
| Thickness Reference | Common projects typically use approximately 0.5–6.0 mm sheet, subject to material, geometry, die structure and DFM review |
The key engineering value of integrated riveting is process stability. When riveting is performed after offline handling, small deviations in part positioning, hole alignment or fixture loading may affect joint consistency. By integrating riveting into the transfer die sequence, the part can be located by the die structure, reducing unnecessary repositioning between stamping and assembly.
However, integrated riveting requires careful review of die space, riveting force, joint direction, part support, rivet feeding method and deformation around the riveted area. If the local sheet metal is not supported correctly, riveting may cause surface distortion, hole expansion or inconsistent joint strength.
For riveted transfer die stamping parts, the most important control points include hole position, rivet alignment, local flatness, material thickness, burr direction and the distance between formed features and the riveted joint. These factors determine whether the rivet can be inserted smoothly and whether the final assembly can maintain stable strength.
Dongguan Changdong Tool & Die Co., Ltd. designs transfer die processes according to customer 2D drawings, 3D models, material grade, sheet thickness, rivet requirements and assembly standards. The process route can be reviewed through sheet metal DFM analysis, die design, press tryout and sample validation.
Compared with a conventional secondary riveting process, transfer die stamping with integrated riveting can reduce part handling, shorten process flow and improve repeatability for suitable production volumes. It is commonly considered for automotive structural parts, functional stamped components, reinforced assemblies and metal parts requiring stable mechanical joining.

Changdong supports in-house die design, CNC machining, WEDM, grinding, die assembly, press tryout, sample measurement and metal stamping production. Riveting, tapping, welding and assembly can also be completed in-house when the stamped component requires secondary or integrated assembly operations.
Quality inspection for this type of stamping processing should include rivet position, joint appearance, local deformation, dimensional accuracy, hole alignment and assembly fit. For selected features with tighter requirements, the tolerance plan should be confirmed according to the customer drawing and inspection standard.
To evaluate a transfer die stamping project with integrated riveting, please provide the 2D drawing, 3D model, material grade, sheet thickness, rivet specification, joint requirement, tolerance standard, annual volume and assembly notes. The final feasibility should be confirmed after drawing review, DFM evaluation and sample validation. For project discussion, please send your drawing for review.
